Udaipur is one
of the most loving cities in all of Rajasthan, Udaipur
is better known as the city of lakes. The Lake Palace,
Udaipur marble palaces, the beautiful gardens and the placid
blue lakes enhance the beauty of this city. It was founded
in 1568 by Maharana Udai Singh II. The Lake Palace is
positively the best late example of this unique cultural
explosion, but Udaipur is full of palaces, temples and
havelis ranging from the modest to the excessive. It's also
proud of its heritage as a centre for the stage arts,
painting and crafts. Udaipur is situated in the North
Western corner of India and part of Rajasthan. Udaipur
is well connected through air, rail, and road to other
important cities of India like Jaipur, Delhi, and Mumbai.
Climate
This city has a
tropical climate, but more pleasing than other places in
Rajasthan. In the summers, mercury rises up to a maximum
of 38.3°C. Not much respite is there in the summers, as the
minimum temp. does not fall below 28ºC. Winters are a little
cold with the maximum temp. rising to 28.8°C and the minimum
dipping to 11.6°C. The annual total rainfall is 61 cm.
Winters (September-March) are the best stage for visiting
Udaipur.
